Change Is Hard. Do It Anyway.

Change is hard.

It doesn’t matter what new habit you are trying to build. If it’s eating healthier, starting to workout, or trying to lose 15 pounds, they all require the same.

A lot of time. A lot of discipline. A lot of patience.

But there’s one thing that can multiply your chances of succeeding in your health endeavor.

People.

Here are two reasons why!

The right people will help lead you to the right outcome.

This isn’t just true for health; this is true for every area of your life. Whatever you are looking to achieve, change, or grow, you need people to help you get there.

Here’s an example: if you want to become a better basketball player, then it wouldn’t make sense to hang around with chess players that hate sports.

Being around the right people can help you move in the direction you want for your life.

When you fail (you will), they will get you back on your feet.

I know right now you are motivated, excited, and ready to take on the world. I love that and hold on to that! The problem is there will come a day that you hate your goal and what it requires. You would rather chop off your feet than go workout.

When these feelings come, you will, without a doubt, give into those feelings. If you don’t have people in your corner, then a bad day can turn into a bad month. Having people along on your journey can bring you encouragement and support when you need it the most.

Here are some questions to help you apply this to your goals.

  1. Who are the people I know, or could know, that are living a lifestyle I want? How can I get around them more?

  2. Who are the 2-3 people that would do this with me?
